CHP identifies man killed in Soledad crash

Update 10/25/2016 12:47 p.m.: California Highway Patrol is releasing the identity and more information about a man involved in a fatal accident in Soledad Tuesday morning.

Investigators said Ezequiel Rosas, 22, of Soledad was killed on Highway 101 near Camphora Gloria Rd. as he was driving southbound and traveled onto the shoulder. CHP said Rosas crashed into a dirt embankment and rolled his car several times.

Officers said Rosas was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his car and died at the scene near Silliman Road. It is not clear why Rosas veered into the shoulder. Drugs and alcohol don’t appear to be a factor.

CHP says it happened around 4:30 a.m. when they got a report of a man on the roadway near Silliman and Camphora Roads.

Officials say the accident involved only one vehicle.
