Serial burglar arrested in Santa Cruz

A man has been arrested for a string of burglaries in Santa Cruz.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old Michael Biscovich is responsible for seven burglaries on October 21 st and the 23 rd .

Biscovich is accused of breaking into multiple vehicles and a home. He stole tools, automotive equipment, electronics, jewelry, a wallet and a handbag.

Deputies said they found some of the stolen property in Biscovich’s car. On October 23 rd , they then got a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Rodriguez Street in Santa Cruz. The homeowner said a large amount of jewelry was stolen. Deputies quickly set up a perimeter around the house and surrounding homes.

During the investigation, a deputy caught Biscovich walking near the house. Deputies found jewelry in his pockets and the rest of the stolen jewelry was found near the house.

Biscovich is now in the Santa Cruz County Jail facing multiple charges.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone in the Santa Cruz area who had property stolen in the last couple weeks to report it by calling 831-471-1121.
