Semi crashes near Highway 152, Casa De Fruita

UPDATE 10/21/16 4:59 PM: A crash involving an overturned big rig sent one man to the hospital and caused a road closure Friday afternoon near Casa de Fruita.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was first reported at 2:09 p.m.. A produce truck reportedly struck a guard rail, lost control and overturned.

The driver of the truck suffered burns and was taken to the hospital. The accident forced the closure of both east and westbound SR-152 for around 90 minutes. By 4:00, only one westbound lane was still closed.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
