Extended hours for voter registration deadline

Santa Cruz and Watsonville’s Elections Offices will stay open until 8 p.m. Monday, Octobery 24. It’s the last day to register to vote for the November presidential election.

“Providing extended hours for registration and voting is very helpful to voters who are busy with work, school or family during our regular weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., ” said County Clerk Gail Pellerin.

In order to register to vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age and not be in prison or parole for a felony conviction. Voters who recently moved, changed their names or want to change their political party must also re-register to vote.

Voters can register at elections offices or online at : www.registertovote.ca.gov .
