A Prunedale man was convicted Friday of sexually molesting his daughter and stepson in 2014, according to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said David Thomas, 46, was convicted after a three-week trial. Thomas was found guilty of forcing his 4-year-old daughter to touch his genitals during visitation. He was also found guilty of sending his ex-wife out of the home on shopping errands to sexually molest his 10-year-old stepson while she was away.

During the trial, it was also revealed Thomas would hit the boy and yell at him when they lived together.

Thomas will be sentenced on Oct. 13. He faces up to 85 years to life in prison.
