Reptiles, experiments and all things science celebrated at Hartnell College

The 10 th annual Family Science Day kicked off on campus with event goers exploring science, technology, engineering and math in an interactive way.

Demonstrations, exhibits, live animals and entertainment were all part of the fun.

Organizers said the event was also meant to provide a place for community and inspire kids to get into STEM fields.

“You have to spark their interest,” said Maggie Melone, Director of Hartnell K-12 STEM Programs. “You have to spike their excitement and show some passion for something that you’re going do in the future.”

Organizers believe at least 1000 people showed up for the event.
