Event helps locals prepare for potential emergencies

The Capital Insurance Group hosted its fourth annual Community Safety Saturday at the Monterey County Fairgrounds this weekend.

About 30 different vendors provided advice, resources and demonstrations about how to prevent anything from car accidents to mental health tragedies.

“We want to make sure regardless of where you go, where your days take you, from work to school, around the house, on vacation, your practicing safe habits,” said Linda Gorman with the Capital Insurance Group.

Kids were also able to get fingerprints and other DNA analysis done at the free event.
