Marina woman sent to prison for stealing cars

A Marina woman was sentenced to more than four years in prison after she pleaded guilty to stealing several cars this year and last year.

On Thursday, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said Kayla Miles, 25, was sentenced for cases in Salinas, Carmel and Marina.

In one case, Miles led officers on a car chase and failed to pull over. In another, she drove into oncoming traffic to avoid being pulled over.

The district attorney’s office said car theft is a widespread problem in Monterey County. Anyone with information on a stolen car is asked to call the Motnerey County Sheriff’s Department Multi-Agency Detail for Commercial Auto Theft at 831-883-7588.
