Dad gets 6 months in jail for failing to support his children

After repeatedly violating probation by failing to pay child support, a Salinas man will spend six months behind bars.

A judge sentenced Anthony Robert Zeidler, 51, to serve 180 days in county jail, according to the Monterey County Department of Child Support Services. Judge Efren Iglesia handed down the sentence August 5 th .

In 2014, a judge sentenced Zeidler to three years of probation for failing to support his children. The terms of his probation required him to pay child support, find and keep employment and report his job search.

This was Zeidler’s third violation of probation, according to Monterey County Department of Social Services.

Zeidler owes nearly $140,000 in missed child support payments.
