Salinas records 20th homicide of 2016
The death of a Salinas man Tuesday marks the city’s 20 th homicide of 2016.
Salvador Duran, 25, was shot multiple times on Sunday night July 31 in the 2100 block of N. Main Street in Salinas. Witnesses told police that Duran was with friends when he was confronted and shot by two men who fled the scene.
Police classify the case as gang-related. A second homicide occurred later the same evening in the 300 block of Iris Drive. Police do not believe the cases are related.
