Man shot in Castroville during attempted robbery

A man is recovering after being shot when two suspect tried to rob him in Castroville Monday morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said two men tried to rob the victim on Del Monte Ave., but when the man wouldn’t give them money they shot him.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The sheriff’s office said it doesn’t have suspect descriptions.
