Gilroy woman killed in traffic accident

A Gilroy woman was killed Thursday morning when she lost control of her car and crashed on southbound Highway 101 near the Highway 156 interchange near Aromas.

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Cenobia Felix Gutierrez, 21, of Gilroy.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. when Guitierrez’ car left the road, hit a ditch and became airborne.

Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact the Gilroy/Hollister CHP Office at (408) 848-2324.
