Cooler, Cloudier, Sunday with a Chance of Rain

Air Quality (as of 11:15AM)
GOOD to MODERATE for all reporting areas.

WEATHER STORY
A weather system on Sunday will bring strong onshore flow and significant cooling to the area. Its cold front will arrive late Sunday night and may bring some light rain. The pattern will then become tranquil and slightly cool early next week before becoming more active.

Sunday: Clouds and onshore flow will increase ahead of a weather system that will bring the chance of some light rain late Sunday evening. The keyword here is “light”. Temperatures along the coast will drop back into the 60s and inland 60s and 70s. As the front approaches winds will increase.

Overnight: Showers will linger through the overnight hours before slowly tapering off by sunrise. Temperatures will mostly be in the 40s, a few 50s closer to the coast, and 30s for valley locations.

Monday: The air mass will remain cold, so expect a cool day across the area with temperatures in the 50s and 60s, a few possible 70s in southern Monterey County. The morning will start with some patchy clouds but will clear by the afternoon to mostly sunny skies for both coastal and inland locations. Breezy conditions will persist throughout the day.

Extended: There are some indications that mid. to late week, rain will be possible again with back to back weather systems moving through. We'll continue to track the conditions as the week progresses.
