Watsonville man arrested for hit and run injuring UCSC student

A Watsonville man is facing charges after police said he hit a 21-year-old U.C. Santa Cruz student walking near Bay Dr. and High St. and left the scene Monday night.

Santa Cruz Police said Juan Castillo, 33, was driving without a license and didn’t stop to help.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Castillo was arrested for hit and run and driving without a license.
