AIDS fundraising bicycle ride visits the Central Coast
Over 2,000 cyclists joined the morning commute Monday, rolling along Central Coast roads during the annual Aids Lifecycle Ride. The fundraising ride covers 545 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
The cyclists started the day in Santa Cruz, riding through Castroville and Salinas before stopping for the night in King City. They are expected to reach Los Angeles on Saturday.
This year’s ride raised more than $16 million dollars for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Los Angeles LGBT Center.
