Position: Digital Content Director

The News Department at KION TV Monterey-Salinas, CA, will have an opening for a full-time Digital Content Director in June 2016.

The Digital Content Director is responsible for the overall supervision and development of www.kionrightnow.com. We’re looking for an online journalist with strong writing and editorial skills who can multitask under tight deadlines. Prior experience using major social media platforms is required. The digital content director is responsible for publishing daily news and breaking news content to the station’s digital platforms. The DCD will produce and edit multimedia elements for online stories. The DCD will also collaborate with news staff including reporters and producers and assist with assignment desk duties as needed.

Qualified candidates must have experience with content management systems, HTML, Adobe Photoshop and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications include: Previous experience working in a newsroom. Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field. We’re looking for an organized, self–starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to train others.

A valid California driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.
