UPDATE: Missing elderly woman found safe by Capitola Mall security

UPDATE: 4/09/2016 3:00 PM: Monterey County Sheriff’s office said 80-year-old Graciela Lopez is safe and in good condition.

Security guards at the Capitola Mall spotted Lopez Saturday afternoon.

Deputies said she will be medically evaluated and then returned to the care facility she was reported missing from Friday night.

ORIGINAL 4/9/2016: Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team is out looking for an 80-year-old woman reported missing Friday night near the Live Oak area.

Deputies said Graciela Lopez left her care facility on 17 th Avenue Friday around 1 p.m.

She was last seen near Jose Avenue and Capitola Road around 7:30 pm., wearing a black jacket, black pants and white shoes.

Deputies are asking residents to call 911 if Lopez is spotted.
