Fire destroys home days after tenants move out

Fire destroyed a home at the Brookvale Mobile Home Park in Capitola early Friday morning, just days after the tenants moved out, according to the Central Fire Protection District.

Multiple fire departments responded just after 4 a.m., including Central Fire Protection District, Aptos La Selva Fire District and Santa Cruz City Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to a neighboring home and nearby trees.

Firefighters contacted the property owner who told them the previous tenants had moved out several days before.
