Water rescue at Palm Beach near Watsonville

UPDATE 4/7/16 3:00 PM: Still no word on the condition of the teenager who was pulled out of the water and taken to the hospital Wednesday, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire officials said the teen was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital. Officials said the teen was swept out by rip currents along with two other teens who were able to make it out.

Cal Fire, Santa Cruz County Fire, Pajaro Dunes, State Parks, Harbor Patrol, and the US Coastguard responded.

A child was taken to the hospital after a water rescue at Palm Beach near Watsonville Wednesday, according to Cal Fire. The child’s condition is unknown.

Cal Fire officials said a child was reported in the water just before 5:30 p.m. A total of three children were taken out of the water.
