Unusual springtime heat, but it won’t stick around

With near record temperatures hitting the Central Coast, plenty of people are spending the day at the beach.

In addition to the high temps, possibly reaching 90 degrees in some places, there will be offshore winds.

The National Weather Service is warning people to be aware of those offshore winds, particularly kayakers and stand up paddle boarders. The wind can make it difficult to return to the beach.

KION’s Steven Fundaro asked people how they’re beating the heat during these unusually hot temperatures for April. Also look out for Chief Meteorologist Dann Cianca’s forecast Wednesday evening.
