Suspected drug dealer arrested again

A Watsonville man who is accused of selling heroin is back behind bars on a second drug charge.

31-year-old Rodrigo “Roy” Marquez was stopped in Salinas Friday by C-H-P officers assisting members of the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s special enforcement team. Detectives found more than 10 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and a half-pound of heroin inside the vehicle.

A passenger, 23-year-old Julia Ryan from Seaside was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

Marquez was arrested in January by the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team and charged with selling heroin. He was released after posting $250,000 bail.

Marquez was booked into the Monterey County jail with an increased bail.
