New details on Ramona Ave shooting that leaves two brothers dead

UPDATE 3/16/16 2:00 PM: The Salinas Police Department released more information about the deadly shooting on Ramona Avenue on March 13.

Two brothers were killed, Luis Cardiel San Pablo, 21, and his brother, Adair Cardiel San Pablo, 18.

According to police, the brothers were sitting in their car when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and fired multiple gunshots into their car. The brothers were both struck several times. Luis was pronounced dead at the scene, and Adair later died at the hospital.

Police are investigating this double homicide as a gang-related.

UPDATE: 3/14/16 6:12 AM: Salinas Police confirm a second victim has died after a shooting Sunday night in Salinas. Witnesses told police someone in a dark SUV pulled up and began shooting toward the victim’s car. A 21-year-old was found dead in that vehicle. An 18-year-old was found alive, but later died at Natividad Medical Center.

Police say one victim had gang contacts with the Salinas Police Department.

One person is dead and another in critical condition after a shooting Sunday night in Salinas.

Salinas Police say it happened just after 11:00 p.m. on the 1300 block of Ramona Avenue, when officers responded to reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found two victims on scene with multiple gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead on scene. The other was transported to Natividad Medical Center in critical condition.

Right now no suspects are in custody. Investigators will work overnight on the case.
