Special traffic enforcement results in nearly 40 citations

Traffic enforcement at local schools in Salinas resulted in 39 citations mostly for speeding and cell phone use, according to police.

Officers with Monterey Peninsula STOPP said special traffic enforcement was done on Thursday from 8AM to 11AM in high traffic areas.

STOPP works to promote and enhance driver safety. Its made up of law enforcement agencies from around the Monterey Peninsula.
