PG&E may face more fines after 2014 Carmel gas explosion

PG&E may be ordered to pay about $112 million more in fines by theCalifornia Public Utilities Commission.

This follows a probe of the company’s record keeping practices after a
natural gas explosion at a Carmel home in 2014.

PG&E said the company has made progress in improving customer safety, but that there’smore work to be done.

The company already paid about $11 million in fines following theexplosion.

A decision on the new fine is expected by the end of March.
