UPDATE: Man arrested at Seaside Hotel identified

UPDATE 10/10/15 6:15 p.m.: The suspect arrested at a Seaside hotel Friday has been identified as Shaunne Katoa, 20.

Katoa was wanted in connection to three recent armed robbery cases out of Monterey County including a liquor store near Highway 101 and San Miguel Canyon Road and a Burger King in Castroville, deputies said.

The investigation is still ongoing. The sheriff’s office adds Katoa may be responsible for other crimes in the surrounding areas.

Seaside Police said they arrested an armed robbery suspect Friday morning connected to three recent cases.

Officers said the suspect’s car was found at the Embassy Suites in Seaside and the arrest was made Friday morning.

People staying inside the hotel were asked to evacuate, officers said.

Monterey Police and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
