Car Week road closures: Survival guide for locals

With 85,000 people coming from outside of Monterey County to check out the cars on display during Car Week, roads will get congested to say the least!

Anyone who lives, works, visits or goes to school in Monterey should be prepared for delays.

Lane closures:

Del Monte Avenue between Washington and Alvarado streets will be one lane only, August 8-17th from 7:00 a.m.-9:00p.m.

The driveway entrance to the Portola Hotel and Conference Center will be closed Thursday August 13-Saturday August 15.

Cannery Row will be closed from Hoffmann to Drake, Wednesday August 12-Saturday August 15 from 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

The entire length of Cannery Row (David Avenue to Drake) will be closed Friday August 14th from 2:00-10:00p.m.

If you wish to attend the final day of the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance there will be a shuttle:

Buses will run from the Carmel Plaza to Pebble Beach starting at 8:00a.m. on Sunday August 16th. $20 per person per day and a wristband allows unlimited rides for the day.

Free parking is available at Vista Lobos lot at 3rd and Junipero and at Sunset Center lot on 8th between Mission and San Carlos.
