Governor signs bill aimed at cracking down on hash oil and meth manufacturing

On Friday, Governor Jerry Brown signed a new bill aimed at addressing the state’s problem with butane hash oil and methamphetamine manufacturing in neighborhoods.

SB 212 makes it an aggravated felon to manufacture both drugs within close proximity to occupied residences and structures.

The bill will take effect January 1, 2016.

“Not only is BHO or methamphetamine manufacturing illegal, but it is an extremely dangerous and highly volatile activity that can result in large explosions, causing extreme bodily injury, death and property damage,” SB 212 author Senator Mendoza said.
