Santa Cruz police searching for man who allegedly snapped pics of naked 7-year-old girl

Police are searching for a man seen taking pictures of a naked 7-year-old girl in a public shower near the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf last month.

Officers said witnesses reported seeing the man taking pictures as the girl was rinsing off after a day at the beach. A restaurant employee alerted the child’s parents and the man left the area, investigators said.

Santa Cruz police are describing the man as white, 5’8″ with medium build, late 60s with white hair, wearing a cowboy hat and sleeveless shirt at the time of the incident.

Officers said the incident happened in the 100 block of Beach St. Security cameras in the area captured images of the man police are looking for.
