Santa Cruz police searching for hit-and-run suspect

Santa Cruz police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in a hit and run crash in a neighborhood on the west side of the city.

Police said the crash happened in the 400 block of Palm Street on Sunday just after 2 p.m.

Witnesses said a grey truck was chasing an older black Mercedes near Bay Street and California when the Mercedes crashed into a curb on Palm St.

Police said the grey truck intentionally crashed into the Mercedes and left the scene.

Officers said the victim was taken to the hospital with an injury to his leg.

The suspect car is described as a light grey full size pickup truck and the driver is described as a white male in his late 40s.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
