Morgan Hill driver rams into several police cars, officers say
A Morgan Hill man is facing multiple charges after ramming into a patrol car on Highway 101, according to California Highway Patrol.
Officers said Alex Larsen, 46, was driving northbound on Highway 101 when he was seen swerving all over the road in a 1983 Volkswagen Van.
An officer tried to pull Larsen over as he continued to swerve into traffic, almost crashing into other cars, CHP said.
CHP said Larsen turned around at Bailey Avenue and started traveling southbound on Highway 101, then rammed a CHP patrol car causing moderate damage.
Officers said Larsen exited off Highway 101 into Morgan Hill, where Morgan Hill police officers helped to prevent Larsen from escaping.
That’s where officers said Larsen tried to escape and rammed into tow Morgan Hill police cars. Officers said they used pepper spray to arrest Larsen.
Larsen was taken to the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, evading in a reckless manner, evading driving the wrong way, resisting arrest and DUI.
