UPDATE: Highway 101 open at Airport Road in Salinas after big rig crash

UPDATE: California Highway Patrol said all lanes on Highway 101 northbound at Airport Road are open Monday afternoon after a big rig crash earlier in the day.

PREVIOUS STORY: A big rig crashed on its side early Monday morning on Highway 101 at Airport Road in Salinas, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers said the incident was reported just after 5:30 a.m. and the truck blocked both lanes of the highway until about 7:30 a.m.

CHP said plastic piping fell out of the truck and crews will be continue cleaning up the mess until about noon. The number two lane is still closed at Airport Road.

Officers said no one was hurt during the crash.
