Amber Alert cancelled: San Pedro toddler found safe, father in custody

Update 8:30p.m.: Amber Alert cancelled, U.S. Marshals reportedly found the one year old safe in Tijuana, Mexico. The father of the child was taken into custody. No further details are being released at this point.

Previous story: An AMBER Alert has been issued for a missing child in Southern California.

Los Angeles law enforcement says a one-year-old Hispanic toddler was abducted Monday at 1:30 a.m. in San Pedro.

The child’s name is Jayden Santiago and the suspect is possibly driving a 2006 gray Nissan Altima with a license plate 5UCF010.

The suspect is Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, a 37-year-old Hispanic male. Santiago-Enriquez is said to be armed and dangerous.

Police say the suspect is wanted for attempted murder after he attacked the child’s mother and her boyfriend at their home.

Jayden Santiago is 24 inches tall, weighs 26 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light brown and green sweater, green and brown striped onesie and black Nike shoes.

Santiago-Enriquez is said to be 5’8″ tall, weighs 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black sweater, black Dickies pants, and gray and black Nike shoes.

Los Angeles Police say early Monday morning the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s house and stabbed her boyfriend. They say he has made suicidal threats and has attempted suicide in the past.

Police believe Santiago-Enriquez could be traveling to Mexico, Oregon, or Washington state.
