Monterey man arrested on drug charges, police say

Monterey police and the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team said Cedric Johnson, 58, was arrested Friday, Feb. 13 on several drug charges at Figueroa Street and Del Monte Avenue in Monterey.

After a search at Johnson’s apartment in the 500 block of Larkin Street in Monterey, officers said they found evidence of drug sales, drug use and a laptop reported stolen from a school. Meth and marijuana were gathered as evidence, according to police.

During his arrest, officers said he did not follow orders and was charged with battery on an officer.

Officers said a tip from a resident led them to Johnson. They said Johnson was also wanted for a separate domestic violence and false imprisonment case.
