Salinas Police investigate shooting on city’s east side Friday night

Salinas Police are on scene of a shooting on the city’s east side.

Reports of at least four shots fired in the area of Alisal and Hebbron Avenue came in just before 5p.m. Friday evening.

Police say a 29-year-old man was shot in the upper body, but is expected to survive.

Witnesses say a small silver car exchange words with the victim and three to four shots were fired.

There were a lot of people in the area when the shooting happened and Police are trying to get as much information about the suspect car as they can.

Hebron Avenue is closed in all directions.

Detectives are calling this a gang-related shooting.
