Four Salinas men plead guilty to 2013 sexual assault

On Thursday, Monterey County District Attorney Dean D. Flippo said four Salinas men plead guilty to sexually assaulting four women in December 2013.

Flippo said Fredi Jacuinde, Jose Zavala, Omar Jacuinde and Juan Ramirez Espinoza will all serve time in prison.

Flippo anticipates Zavala will spend 25 years in state prison for pleading to six counts, five of which fall under California’s three strikes law.

Omar Jacuinde plead guilty to four counts, two of which are strikes. He will receive between 16-18 years in state prison.

Flippo said Fredi Jacuinde plead to one count. He will receive a six year prison sentence.

Espinoza also plead guilty to one count. He faces a maximum of three years in state prison.

Flippo said Salinas Police Detectives Gabriel Gonzalez and Byron Gansen worked hard on the cases to pursing four violent offenders.
