Police: 5th Salinas homicide of year Saturday night

UPDATE 2/8/15: The Salinas Police Department is investigating Salinas’ fifth homicide of the year.

It happened Saturday just after 8p.m. on the 1000 block of North Sanborn Road, police said.

Eric Jacobo, 21, was shot multiple times outside an apartment complex, police said.

Officers performed CPR on Jacobo but was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Police Department is investigating the shooting as gang related.

Salinas Police Detectives are looking for witnesses or anyone who may information regarding this incident.

A 20-year-old male victim was shot multiple times outside an apartment complex between Garner and Del Monte Avenues on North Sanborn, police said.

Officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead on scene just after 8 p.m., police said.

Police on scene didn’t release any suspect information and added it’s too early to tell if this shooting is gang-related.
