Missing man at-risk in Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to find a man who is at-risk because of some medical issues.

Investigators say 64-year-old Joseph Copeland was last seen at 8:30a.m. Friday, near Soquel Avenue and the Hwy 1 overpass.

He was reported missing by staff members from the Hearts and Hands rehabilitation facility located on Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz.

Copeland is known to have medical issues that place him at risk if he is not found.

He was described as a black male, 6-02, 158 lbs brown eyes, grey hair, wearing green sweat pants, green jacket, red long sleeved shirt, black woven hat and black tennis shoes.

Copeland is known to frequent the Coral Street shelter and the Emeline Street facility.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please call Sheriff’s Office dispatch at (831) 471-1121.
