Salinas Police say son hits dad in the head with a hatchet during argument

A fight between a father and son ends in an arrest. Salinas Police said 45-year-old Steven Ferguson reportedly hit his father in the head with a hatchet in their home on Atherton Way on Monday night.

Police officers arrived at the house where they both live and tried to arrest Ferguson. But it turns out he wasn’t there.

Officers later heard reports of a man matching his description at Natividad Medical Center and when officers arrived he tried to run. Officers said they used a Taser to apprehend Ferguson and eventually arrested. His father is expected to survive.
