One man dead after Sunday night shooting in Salinas

Police are investigating a homicide and attempted homicide that happened just after 6p.m. on Sunday.

According to officers, two men were shot near the one hundred block of Orchard Avenue.

Both were taken to the hospital, but authorities say, 23-year-old Jorge Mosqueda died in surgery.

Currently, no suspect details are available and it’s still unclear if the shooting is gang related.
