Previously: CHP says that Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies have requested a Silver Alert after 77-year-old Juana Padilla disappeared from her daughter’s home.

Padilla was last seen around 2p.m. Friday afternoon at her daughter’s house near Muriel Dr. and Chanticleer Ave. in Santa Cruz.

Investigators say the family has checked with other members of the family who live in Prunedale and Padilla did not show up there.

Padilla’s daughter said that she was supposed to pick up her 8-year-old grandchild from school but never showed up.

Padilla is described as a Hispanic woman standing about 5 feet tall, weighing about 120 pounds, and driving a Mitsubishi Galant.

Santa Cruz County deputies are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to call 911.
