Ciclovia Salinas comes to Alisal Street Saturday for a second year

A youth-driven open streets event took over Alisal Street Saturday for a second year.

Ciclovia Salinas is aimed at promoting community and wellness. This free event encourages people to come out to bike, walk, dance and skateboard and “take over the streets” for a day of fun. Activities included Zumba and fitness classes, a children’s area, informational booths, art, live music, raffle prizes and more.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Alisal Street was closed from downtown Salinas to South Sanborn Street.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted hundreds of people. More information is available on the event’s Facebook page.
