San Lorenzo River trestle bridge gets new connecting ramp

The pedestrian and bike path along the San Lorenzo River trestle bridge will be closed from Oct. 28 through Oct. 30 for construction.

The city of Santa Cruz is installing a pedestrian and bicycle ramp between the river’s south levee and the trestle bridge. Construction began last month and is expected to continue through December.

While the path is closed this week, the public is advised to use the Riverside Street Bridge as an alternate route.

At other times during the construction period when the pedestrian and bike path along the trestle bridge is closed, a detour around the project will be provided. For safety reasons, the public is advised not to walk on the train trestle track area.

Project updates will be posted at the Public Works website and Facebook page.
