Beaten Giants fan says he wants to walk normally

The San Francisco Giants fan who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being beaten by two Dodger fans says he is happy to be alive and wants to learn to walk and run normally again.

Bryan Stow spoke to ESPN on Tuesday from his parents’ home in Capitola, where he watched Game 1 of the World Series between the Giants and Kansas City Royals. In the video, he raises his hand, puts out two fingers and gives his mom a fist bump when Giants outfielder Hunter Pence hits a two-run home run in the first inning. Later, Stow, who uses a walker, gives a thumbs-up sign.

The 45-year-old Stow was attacked at Dodger Stadium in 2011. He won a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Dodgers in July.

The two men convicted in the attack were sentenced to prison earlier this year.
