Masked baton-wielding Oakland bank robber sentenced to 78 months in prison

A 22-year-old man who robbed several Oakland banks while armed with a baton has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison.

Noah Blue of Oakland was convicted of four bank robberies in Oakland during the summer of 2013.

Blue pleaded guilty to multiple charges, admitting he robbed one Bank of the West branch three separate times in less than a month. The most money he made off with in any one incident was roughly $1,800.

Blue entered the banks wearing a mask and gloves, and then passed the tellers a note announcing that he was robbing the bank and demanding that they give him money.

In one robbery, armed with an 18-inch baton, he jumped the teller counter and confronted the victim tellers face to face. He raised the baton at a teller and threatened to beat her if she didn’t give him money.

Blue was arrested Sept. 4, 2013 and charged with four counts of bank robbery. He pleaded guilty to all four charges.
