Driving test ends when car crashes in Seaside DMV parking lot

A man failed his driving test Tuesday morning after crashing his car into a brick wall at the DMV facility in Seaside.

The man was trying to take a right turn into the parking lot of the building just before noon but appears to have hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. He smashed into a brick wall in the parking lot, taking out a “No Parking” sign along the way.

He and the instructor were both taken to a local hospital for treatment. Neither showed visible injuries but were complaining about pain, officials said.

Officers from the Seaside Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Seaside Fire Department responded.
