Nominations sought for Santa Cruz’s Officer Jim Howes Award

The city of Santa Cruz is accepting nominations for the 2014 Officer Jim Howes Community Service Award.

The award was established in 2007 in honor of the retirement of Howes, a 26-year veteran of the Santa Cruz Police Department.

The award is typically given to one city employee and one community member for their service to the Santa Cruz community.

To nominate a city employee or community member for the 2014 award, a nomination form along with a short narrative should be submitted via e-mail to scollins@cityofsantacruz.com, faxed to 420-5011 or delivered in hard copy to: City of Santa Cruz, 809 Center Street, Room 10, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.

The nomination period will close Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m.
