Crews contain fire on Seaside High School campus

Crews are responding to a fire reported Friday afternoon on the Seaside High School campus.

Battalion Chief Dave Nava of the Seaside Fire Department said a vegetation fire was reported just before 3 p.m.

The fire was about four to five acres, but was contained within a half-hour. Fire crews from Marina, Monterey, Monterey Regional and Cal Fire, Presidio of Monterey responded.

At this point, the cause is undetermined.

No students were on the athletic fields at the time.

As of about 4 p.m, crews were on scene mopping up.
