Morgan Hill teacher faces sex assault charges involving student

A fifth-grade teacher at a Morgan Hill elementary school is accused of sexually assaulting a student.

John Arthur Loyd, 52, of Hollister was arrested Thursday.

Loyd is a teacher at Paradise Elementary School.

According to police, the assault is reported to have occurred this month while school was in session and on more than one occasion.

Morgan Hill Police detectives are working with the school district to notify parents and asking parents to talk with their children to see if there are any other victims.

Police encourage parents of potential victims to notify police before going into a detailed interview with their child.

Loyd was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges of child molestation.
