Annual Bike to Work Day takes place in Santa Cruz County Thursday

Organizers expect more than 6,000 people to participate in the 16th annual fall Bike to Work Day in Santa Cruz County Thursday.

There will be 12 different breakfast site locations throughout the county where cyclists can get a free breakfast from 6:30 – 9:30 a.m. There also will be other incentives, including free bike maintenance, discounts at local health and wellness centers, bike commuting tips and resources and live music.

More than 45 school sites will be offering free breakfast to students biking and walking to school.

The annual event is organized by Ecology Action as a way to encourage people to ride their bike or walk instead of driving when possible.

The full list of breakfast sites – and maps — is available by clicking here. You can also visit Bike to Work Day’s Facebook page here.
