Monterey Jazz Festival working to “green up” this year

The 57th annual Monterey Jazz Festival begins Friday, Sept. 19 and continues through Sunday, Sept. 21.

Festival organizers say they’re working to reduce the festival’s environmental impact in a number of ways.

These efforts include:

All attendees will be provided free access to multiple filtered water stations, and participants are asked to refill and reuse drinking containers. Reusable water bottles also will be for sale, with proceeds going to the festival’s jazz education programs.
For a 6th year, a free bicycle valet parking service will be offered
Volunteers with Ecology Action will be helping with recycling and trash cleanup

The full list of efforts can be read here.
